Tapping screw is a screw that can tap its own hole as it is driven into the material. Tapping screws

are usually use in relatively soft material or sheet materials, such as wood.
Type A / Type B / Type AB / Type D / Type F / Type G / Type U /

Dog Point / Type C / Drill Point

3. Special Screw / Custom Screw

Very low drive-in-torque, a general 30-40 % less than the type 17 wood screws. Test results from independent lab as shown below.
Do away with pre-drilling even on some of the densest woods and composites.
